Full-time · Oslo

About the job

Dignio is looking for a VP of Manufacturing & Global Supply Chain to lead how we source and build our connected medical devices. Reporting to the COO, you will own the path from design transfer through volume production, working through contract manufacturing partners and a global supplier base to produce reliable devices at the cost, quality, and volume the business needs.

This is a hands-on leadership role in a company scaling several hardware products in a regulated environment. You will set manufacturing and sourcing strategy, hold our partners to a high standard, drive cost and quality performance, and grow the team that delivers it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own manufacturing and sourcing strategy for Dignio's device portfolio, from New Product Introduction through volume production, service, and end of life.

  • Lead the selection, qualification, commercial negotiation, and ongoing performance management of contract manufacturers and EMS partners.

  • Build a resilient global supplier base, covering sourcing strategy, supplier qualification, component lifecycle and obsolescence risk, dual sourcing, and cost reduction.

  • Drive design transfer together with engineering, ensuring products move into production through DFM/DFA, process validation, test strategy, and yield improvement.

  • Own manufacturing quality in partnership with QA/RA, including supplier controls, incoming inspection, non-conformance handling, and corrective action.

  • Own the cost of goods for our products, and drive structured cost-down work across design, sourcing, and production.

  • Own the operational metrics for production, including unit cost, yield, supplier on-time delivery, lead time, and scrap. Drive measurable improvement against them, and report performance to the executive team.

  • Build and lead a manufacturing and sourcing organization, and develop the systems and processes it needs to scale.

  • Ensure manufacturing and supplier activities meet medical device regulatory requirements, including ISO 13485 supplier control, EU MDR, and applicable requirements in other markets.

  • Stay updated on and conduct all tasks in compliance with the Dignio Quality Management System and Information Security Management System.

Person Specifications and Experience

  • Senior leadership experience owning manufacturing and sourcing for an electromechanical or connected hardware product, including cost ownership and budget responsibility.

  • Proven track record scaling a physical product from pilot builds to sustained volume production through contract manufacturers.

  • Deep experience in supplier selection, qualification, contract negotiation, and performance management across multiple geographies.

  • Experience in regulated manufacturing, ideally medical devices (ISO 13485, EU MDR), or another safety-critical industry.

  • Practical knowledge of New Product Introduction and design transfer, including DFM/DFA, process validation, and production testing.

  • Experience managing electronic component supply risk, including obsolescence, allocation, and long-lead sourcing.

  • Fluency with ERP and PLM systems.

  • Experience building and leading teams across sites and time zones, and willingness to travel to partners and suppliers.

  • A pragmatic, detail-oriented leader who is comfortable operating at both strategic and shop-floor level, and motivated to improve patient outcomes through technology.
