Job Brief

Dignio is looking for a Software Test Engineer to test and verify the software behind our medication dispensers. The dispenser runs software we develop and works with a cloud service and an end-user application we also build. Your job is to make sure the whole system does what it is supposed to do and to produce evidence to show it.

You will plan tests, run them on real devices, record results, and report clearly on what works and what doesn't. This is a hands-on testing and verification role in a medical device company, so thoroughness and good documentation matter as much as finding bugs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and carry out testing of the dispenser software across the device, the end-user application, and the cloud service.

  • Write and maintain test plans and test cases based on the product's requirements and on how it is actually used.

  • Run test cycles systematically on real devices, and record results in the form our technical documentation requires.

  • Reproduce and document defects clearly, and follow them through with the development teams until they are resolved.

  • Keep the test devices and test environments you rely on in a known, reliable state.

  • Give the team a clear picture ahead of each release of what has been tested, what has not, and what risks remain.

  • Stay updated on and conduct all tasks in compliance with the Dignio Quality Management System and Information Security Management System.

Person Specifications and Experience

  • Experience in software testing, or a background where careful, structured, well-documented work was essential.

  • A general understanding of how software systems work: what a server does, what an API is, and how a device talks to a backend. You do not need to be a developer.

  • Organized and methodical, with the discipline to work through a test plan completely and record what you find accurately.

  • Clear written communication, particularly when describing a defect so that someone else can reproduce it.

  • The instinct to think in terms of risk and coverage: what could go wrong, how likely it is, and what would catch it.

  • Technical depth is a plus: setting up devices and reading logs, scripting, API testing, or test automation.

  • Familiarity with software verification in a regulated environment (IEC 62304) is a plus.

  • A careful, curious tester who is motivated by delivering high quality products that delight users and improve patient outcomes.
